Dearest Member,

It is hard to believe that the 2020-2021 school year is coming to a close. The past fourteen
months have been quite difficult for educators throughout the United States. As educators
working with students in the Health and Medical Sciences fields, we have had to find new and
creative ways to provide the necessary content to our student populations. The number of cases
of COVID-19 is decreasing thus allowing us to establish a new normal. We will be having our
Summer Conference this year virtually and are planning an in-person conference in 2022. The
conference committee has been working tirelessly on planning a conference that will help
provide Health and Medical Sciences Educators throughout Virginia ways to take care of
themselves, as well as tools to help students with the transition back to fulltime in-person
learning. Please see in order to register for the conference or to pay
membership dues.

We have three open Executive Board positions which include President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect,
and Secretary. In order to run for an open position on the Executive Board, you must have been a
VAHAMSEA member for 3 consecutive years. There are also four appointed positions available.
The Annual VAHAMSEA Meeting will be held on Tuesday July 20, 2021.

The Executive Board has reviewed the VAHAMSEA Bylaws and have identified several areas
that needed to be revised. Please review the following sections of the recommended changes to
the bylaws for vote at our annual meeting:

Article III B. 1-3
Article IV Section 2- E
Section 4- B-2
Article V Section 5- A and F
Section 9- C

Article VI F

Looking forward to seeing everyone July 20 th and July 21 st at the VAHAMSEA Virtual Summer
